About MH the Verb

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My 1st time in Philadelphia, my friend picked me up for an Autumn night drive touring the city. Windows down, he played "a new song" - it was the first time I heard Mayer Hawthorne's "Just Aint Gonna Work Out". It was love at first listen. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly OutKast, Stankonia The Roots, Phrenology These albums are super versatile and eclectic. They represent the apex of each artist's work. Each is iconic, rooted in activism and joy, mixing various genres and promoting Afrofuturistic themes. They were vibes for pivotal moments in my life. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Mary's World (feat. Drusef)” For my friend, Mary's birthday I wanted to do something special to say thank you for her support - so I wrote the song. I'll never forget that moment when I came back after the session and played her the rough mix... We were so HYPE! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In February 2020 (right before the pandemic), I travel to Colombia to tour with Ryan Tennis' band. We connected with so many new friends, new music, & great memories! We ended by crushing our set at Sancocho Festival & I DJed the 300+ afterparty. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to do more full collaborative albums & projects with some of my favorite musical peers who I work. I've always loved those types of projects and love making concept projects that allow me to grow as an artist and get outside of the box.
