In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Maya started performing in SJ early on in garages, backyards, & house gigs. Bay Area Hardcore became a huge influence in the music & culture as Maya's music career started to unravel. In 04, a demo was released following their first West Coast tour. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Mayhem, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Sepultura, The Roots of Sepultura Slipknot, Slipknot These albums are a huge influence on the sound Maya has been able to produce over the years. Fast, heavy, and loud with Bay Area flavors as the core fundamental bounce to the vibe. Never forgetting where we come from and always taking it with us. This single was the first record to the 2021 release DESPIERTA out via Shark City Recordings. The lyric and sound give you a glimpse into the Maya's DNA. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Maya took a long hiatus & returned in 2021 with a huge opportunity to play a fest (RBS) in San Jose, CA. It was a DIY event put on by us for us for (hardcore community.) RBS got national coverage all over the news, social media, & went viral. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Since becoming active, we have a list of places and opportunities we would like to check off the bucket list. To many to list and name off but we aren't going anywhere quietly. Thanks for the support
