In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was in college, part of my assignment was to familiarize myself with the Bach B Minor Mass. Listening to that piece awoke a love and passion for music that I had never before felt. That same passion still guides me every day as I create music. Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Anne Sofie von Otter, Anthony Rolfe Johnson, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Robert Lloyd, Sir Neville Marriner, Mozart: Great Mass in C Minor Berliner Philharmoniker, Herbert von Karajan, Bach: Mass in B Minor Josef Krips, London Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven: The Complete Symphony Collection To me, Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven are the greatest composers of all time, and when I listen to great albums like these, time itself stops, and I am transported to another world that I never want to leave. Tell us why you chose this song. “Super Mario World (Castle Background Theme Soundtrack)” I remember being a kid and playing Super Mario World. Even then, the music stood out to me as some of the best that I had ever heard in a video game. It has been an amazing experience to bring this part of my childhood to life with a full orchestra.
