About M. Pokora

M. Pokora is a chart-topping French singer-songwriter whose sound is modeled after such American R&B artists as Usher and Justin Timberlake. ∙ During Season Three of the French talent show Popstars, the producers placed him in the boy band Linkup, which won the competition and released a hit single. ∙ Latin-pop star Ricky Martin asked Pokora in 2006 to sing on a new version of Martin’s song “It’s Alright,” which became a Top 5 hit in France. ∙ His 2008 English-language single “Dangerous”—featuring Timbaland and his brother Sebastian—debuted at No. 1 in France and made the Top 40 in seven other countries. ∙ Pokora and partner Katrina Patchett won the 2011 talent competition show Danse avec les stars, the first season of France’s take on Dancing with the Stars. ∙ In 2013, he starred as Robin Hood in the popular stage musical comedy Robin des Bois and contributed tracks to the hit soundtrack album. ∙ My Way, his 2016 tribute to iconic singer-songwriter Claude François—originator of the famous title song—became Pokora’s third consecutive chart-topping LP in France.
