About Luke Vassella

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember listening to the very first album I ever bought sometime in 1986, it was Dire Straits’ ‘Brothers In Arms’ on vinyl. The craft of the songs, the great sound and different feels in it, the new universe it opened in my musical imagination. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Dylan, Rough and Rowdy Ways Dire Straits, Brothers In Arms (Remastered 1996) Luke Vassella, Confusing Them with Our Joy ‘Brothers In Arms’ was my first album, I love the new Dolby Atmos sound of it. It’s like brand new. My current album ‘Confusing Them With Our Joy’, I’m very proud of it. Bob’s latest album is simply breathtaking to me, he just gets better🙏 Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Gold” It was recorded at the old butter factory by the Wilson’s River in Lismore on a humid night. It’s a song about searching for the best in our history. I just love the room reverb in the loft where it was recorded, it takes me right back there. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My most recent gig at Gladstone Quality Market on Sunday was memorable. Playing my best songs to an appreciative audience, watching the majestic Macleay river gently flow by. I try to view the most memorable moments as those created most recently. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I’d love to do some more travelling playing my songs around Australia. The next album I record will be my best. Until the one after that.
