He showed me his record collection and told me I could take and listen to anything I wanted, whenever I wanted. I've been spellbound by music ever since. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Joe Henderson, Lush Life: The Music of Billy Strayhorn John Coltrane, Coltrane / Bahia The Dave Brubeck Quartet, Time Out (50th Anniversary Legacy Edition) Coltrane's Bahia was the first jazz record I ever heard. Dave Brubeck was one of my mentors, and Time Out stands the test of time as one of the greatest records ever. Lush Life by Joe Henderson is a mainstay in my life, I always return to this album. Tell us why you chose this song. “Moonstone” Moonstone by the great Toninho Horta was a tune I've wanted to cover since I was first introduced to it by Gideon van Gelder. He recorded it on two of his albums that I was fortunate to be a part of, but never actually got to play on Moonstone! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Traveling all over the world to play with my friends and heroes has been the most memorable part of my career so far. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love for my band to be invited to play at the historic jazz festivals, and perform for those amazing audiences.
