Prolific Japanese psych-rockers LSD March are led by guitarist Shinsuke Michishita, a striking frontman with a stringy black mane, enigmatic mien, and a startlingly original approach to his instrument. Since the late ‘90s, when LSD March unleashed a flood of self-released cassettes and CD-R’s on the Japanese underground, Michisita has developed a distinctive style that relies as much on carefully controlled feedback as on pummeling, Stooges-derived riffs. The group began to garner attention from American psych fans with the release of their fifth album, 2005’s EMPTY RUBIOUS RED.
