About Lizzy Borden

Theatrical heavy-rock band, Lizzy Borden, formed in Los Angeles in 1983, taking their name from the infamous axe murderess. Utilizing strong sexual and horror imagery, their style owed a debt to pioneering rocker Alice Cooper. Their contribution to the METAL MASSACRE IV compilation impressed Metal Blade label boss Brian Slagel enough to offer the group a recording contract. In 1985, the band released their full-length debut, LOVE YOU TO PIECES, an album in the vein of Rainbow and Iron Maiden. A lacklustre double live set, THE MURDERESS METAL ROADSHOW, was followed by the mini-album TERROR RISING, which included a cover of the Tubes’ kitsch classic, "Don’t Touch Me There." They went on to release their most enduring set, 1987’s VISUAL LIES, followed by the excellent MASTER OF DISGUISE (1989). The band split up but reunited after an 11-year hiatus for DEAL WITH THE DEVIL (2000).
