He’s of Black, Mexican, Filipino, and Mexican descent. • After releasing a couple of mixtapes, Lil Pete dropped his debut album, Hardaway, in 2019. The title refers to how he’s done everything “the hard way,” refusing to pay for features early in his career and building his buzz independently. • Lil Pete is cousins with fellow Bay Area rapper Lil Yee. The two have collaborated on several tracks, including “No Time” and “Who You Do It For.”
