Legs

Jeffrey Harland and Matt Bullimore formed Legs in 2011. The two had been friends for a long time and played in bands before they joined forces to record. Inspired by the noisy pop of labels like mid-'80s Creation and Flying Nun (Bullimore was born in New Zealand and grew up a fan of the label), Harland and Bullimore spent a year as a duo only, as Matt learned to play drums and they honed their sound. Slowly they added other members to the band -- Amelia Adams on vocals, then Kevin Walker and Spencer Hicks -- as they worked on recording an album. After hooking up with San Francisco label Loglady, the band released Pass the Ringo in 2013. ~ Tim Sendra
