La Otracina

Brooklyn, New York’s La Otracina blends jazz, psychedelia, and progressive rock in lengthy, instrumental, noise-drenched jams. Founded by drummer Adam Kriney and guitarist Joshua Anzano, La Otracina take cues from the likes of Can, Amon Duul, and King Crimson, among others. The group introduced their heady, sometimes abstract-sometimes rocking sonic aesthetic on 2007’s TONAL ELLIPSE OF THE ONE. BLOOD MOON RIDERS, released in ’09, built on the post-rock blueprint of its predecessor, but added elements of surf guitar and fist-raising motifs from classic rock.
