Kristian Meurman

About Kristian Meurman

Kristian Meurman is a singer who rose to popular awareness through the Finnish Idols television show in 2007, where he finished fourth. He was signed to Sony BMG Records quickly afterward, and his first album, Ensiaskeleet (First Steps), was released in summer 2007. All of the songs on the album are covers of popular songs, ranging from the Bee Gees' "Only One Woman" to Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," sung in Finnish. The album reached number two in Finnish pop charts and had sold enough to warrant a gold record in its first two first weeks of release. Before his current success he had released a self-published CD-EP, At the End of the Road, under his own name, in 2000. Meurman is also the vocalist in the band Agathon's Legacy, which recorded and self-released an English-language CD-EP in 2004. ~ JT Lindroos
