About Kill Henry Sugar
Erik Della Penna and Dean Sharenow spent the latter 1990s as session musicians for the likes of Joan Osborne, Natalie Merchant and Yazbek. In 1999, the two decided to go off on their own. The end result was Kill Henry Sugar. Della Penna likes to describe their sound as "early Felliniesque Northeastern Americana" or "New York ennui." Popular Music for Today's Active Lifestyles appeared in spring 2000. Three years later, Kill Henry Sugar crafted a slick jazz-rock fusion for their third album Sell This Place. Aside from recording, Kill Henry Sugar have shared dates with John Doe, Dave Spalding and Pell Mell. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
