Melting hearts with his delicate vocals and comforting tone, Mandopop star Kelvin Tan has crafted songs that are forever engraved in Singapore’s songbooks. Tan was born visually impaired and pursued his passion for music by busking on the side, but found an audience on the first season of Project SuperStar, winning the show. And his fans continued to swoon over his heartfelt and direct songs often inspired by classic ‘80s Mandopop ballads, as heard on 2007 album I.Weilian and 2017’s 新谣 (The Singapore Songbook). To many, Tan’s gentle acoustic offerings are simply the sound of home.
