Kara Talve

Los Angeles-based composer Kara Talve blends her backgrounds in classical and jazz into sweeping orchestral scores. Born in Long Island, New York, she graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston and moved to L.A., where she interned at Bear McCreary's Sparks & Shadows studio while also working as an assistant at Hans Zimmer's composing collective Bleeding Fingers Music. She collaborated with Zimmer on the scores for the television series The Tattooist of Auschwitz and, with Anže Rozman, on both seasons of Prehistoric Planet. Talve also scored Baz Luhrmann's Faraway Downs mini-series and became the main composer for The Simpsons in 2022.
