Singer/songwriter Josh Preston began as a sideman playing electric guitar for various performers on the East Coast. While supporting Aaron Brotherton, he began his debut solo album, Between Memory and Mortality, in New York, finishing it after he had moved to Nashville; it was released October 19, 2006. Rooftop Silhouettes followed on April 29, 2007, and then The Complex Wooden Heart EP. Preston co-founded his own label, Me and the Machine Records, which released his third album, Exit Sounds, on May 13, 2008. ~ William Ruhlmann
