About Joseph Beaty

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember the first time ever hearing Jim Morrison and The Doors. Was blown away by the raw energy and poetic lyrics. Was an early entry into a more rock type sound for me. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Nick Drake, Pink Moon Nine Inch Nails, The Downward Spiral Explicit Version Pink Floyd, The Wall Each album represents different phases in my life. The Wall being a record I discovered while thumbing through my brothers vinyl records. The Downward Spiral being the album that was played more than any other. Pink Moon is just folk perfection. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Chamber” This was one of the first tunes that I wrote that just didn't need drums. Raw emotion. It was written just after moving to New York and I felt very alone as a musician. Yet, my life became something more after the birth of our twins. End of an era. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Releasing my latest album, Our Hunger Never Sleeps on vinyl. Working with visual artist, Sanirams of Norway to create a cover and visuals that felt otherworldly. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Would love to work on a film score. Create the music for a dark film. I have worked as a songwriter and score artist for a few small films. I feel like I am better equipped to achieve this now working with longtime collaborator, Joseph Butera III.
