Upon the demise of Detroit garage rockers the Covingtons, singer/ guitarist Jonny Chan moved on to front Jonny Chan and the New Dynasty 6 in 1994. Along with two Manhattan natives to back him up on drum and bass, Jonny Chan and company hail to a sound of lo-fi '60s punk romp, on top of the occasional song that's sung in Chinese. Eventually, Dionysus Records released Jonny Chan and the New Dynasty 6's debut full-length So You Want Action in 1998. ~ Mike DaRonco
