In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was about three years old, I discovered an old piano in my parent’s basement. Neither of my parents played, so I was fascinated with how I could figure out melodies from my favorite television shows on it. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Max Richter, The Blue Notebooks Nils Frahm, All Melody Zoë Keating, Into the Trees I chose these three albums because they marry the classical tradition with modern technology. Richter is a composer who embraces the album as a compositional form. Frahm expands the voice of the piano, and Keating uses looping to construct her work.
