About Jon Anything

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My mother taught me music when I was young; singing and then a little piano. At 9 years old I joined the Tucson Boy's Chorus and the school orchestra. Ever since then I have been consistently playing and singing. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Elliott Smith, Figure 8 Fiona Apple, Extraordinary Machine Portishead, Portishead Fiona Apple's music is genuine, atrue expression of who she is. Elliott Smith has this electric energy, even when his voice is hushed. Portishead really pulls me in, they have a gritty sound that is minimalist at times but so filling. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Sand in My Pockets” This is an earlier one of my songs that I feel just has a good power pop feel, I like the energy and it captures some stylistic elements that remind me of my youth. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I've had a great time making music and just appreciating music of all types. I haven't had a lot of recognition but the day I got an email saying I was featured on NPR's All Songs Considered Blog was pretty exciting. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I've been a fan of musical theatre my whole life, the way the emotion of the music lifts the drama to a heightened level can be pure magic. I've just written my first musical in 2023; to get it produced and on stage is a goal I'm working towards.
