About John Hegley
Born October 1, 1953 in the Islington area of London, England, poet, performer, musician, and writer John Hegley initiated his career at the Comedy Store back in 1980. From there, he joined up with satirist group the Popticians, who released a pair of popular singles, and put out his first book of prose, poems, drawings, and observations entitled Visions of the Bone Idol (Poems About Dogs and Glasses). For the next 20-plus years, Hegley went on to publish another 12 books. Hegley also made a name for himself with his well-liked and well-received stage show, which included poetry, music, and audience participation. ~ Chris True
