In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest memories is hearing CCR for the first time... I was young... but I could tell they sounded different than other bands... it didn't take long for me to recognize that there was so much diversity on the radio... in 1970. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Karma” Whenever I perform this one live... people really listen. The lyrics about putting into the world what you expect back... what goes around, comes around... usually this is a negative phrase... I decided to turn it into a positive. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? There are many... a recent standing ovation in a marketplace... performing at the Wiltern Theater... recording with my daughter Jay Rin... seeing and hearing people react to the original stuff when it's mixed with cover tunes... it's a continuum... Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The next album... bigger stages... playing Coachella.... going on a national tour... even as an opening solo act.... looking back on my work and, even if the audience is small... feeling satisfied that I put some pretty decent songs into the world.
