About Jeffrey Gold

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I believe it was Gustav Holst's Jupiter from Die Planeten, from the kinetic opening to the resigned, majestic adagio. Second to that would be Elgar's Nimrod (probably my favorite piece of music). John Barry's Born Free was my favorite TV theme. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Barry, Moviola (Film Score Re-Recording Compilation) John Williams, John Williams - Greatest Hits 1969-1999 Thomas Newman, Various Artists, The Shawshank Redemption Some of the best film music or themes ever written. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Shackleton's Antarctica (Suite: Valparaiso & Deliverance)” This piece wrote itself while imagining Sir Ernest Shackleton standing at the bow in tall waves trying to rescue his men stranded at Elephant Island after abandoning their ship, HMS Endurance. "What the ice takes, the ice keeps." — Ernest Shackleton What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Getting to know the fabulous songwriter Diane Warren and her coterie of people passionate about music. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes, to continually learn more about music and write better. As Rachmaninov said, "Music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music."
