A mainstay of the French piano scene, Jean-Baptiste Fonlupt tends to stress lesser-known music in his programming. He also has a strong commitment to contemporary music. Fonlupt has appeared at major venues, including the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, where he performed at the International Piano Festival. He also appeared in 2016 with the Mariinsky Orchestra under its conductor, Valery Gergiev. Committed to contemporary music, he traveled to Caracas, Venezuela, to perform the world premiere of Anamorphoses for piano and orchestra, by composer Joseph-François Kremer, with the Simón Bolívar Orchestra. In 2022, he issued the album Stravinsky, Ravel, Prokofiev: Ballets on the La Dolce Volta label.
