About Jalisa Rey
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember watching my mom get ready in the morning rapping to Wu-Tang or singing to Mary J. Blige or cleaning to Hector Lavoe. She used to have binders filled with CD's and would get so mad if I took them out cause I would always scratch them up. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? J. Cole, 2014 Forest Hills Drive LAYA, Bet That The Weeknd, Trilogy House of Balloons is a perfect balance of messed up & feel goods. I'm belting every song! In 2014 when J. Cole dropped, it was a smooth ride, took you up & down. LAYA is what's on repeat right now, very on brand being this album is also very mixy. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “On My Own Wave” Has anyone ever piss you off so you go and blast a song so loud to be upset or cry to? This is that song for me, it lifts me up. I'm able to be vulnerable enough to identify that some days I'm not doing my best but I'm figuring it out & that's okay.
