About Jack Yellen
Jack Yellen, one of the most prolific lyricist in the history of American song, began his career while serving in the Army during World War I. In the ‘20s, he began a fruitful association with composer Milton Ager, producing the classic Roaring Twenties number “Ain’t She Sweet?” The duo moved to Hollywood in 1928, where they wrote “I’m The Last Of The Red Hot Mamas,” “Happy Feet,” and the Depression era classic “Happy Days Are Here Again.” The prolific Yellen collaborated with Lew Pollack in 1925 for Sophie Tucker’s international smash “My Yiddishe Momme.” He later wrote, among others, “Life Begins At Forty” and “Is He My Boy Friend?” for her as well.
