Born in Portugal and raised in Manchester, England, singer-songwriter IAMDDB blends hip-hop, soul, and jazz into a sound she calls “urban jazz.”

• IAMDDB is of Portuguesse and Angolan descent. Her father played in an Afro-jazz band.
• She credits artists like Michael Jackson, Busta Rhymes, and Missy Elliott for inspiring her as a child.
• On her atmospheric 2017 Hoorich, Vol. 3 mixtape, she balances trap rhymes with the honeyed vocals of an R&B singer.
• In a momentous 2018, DDB dropped her Flightmode, Vol. 4 mixtape and opened a run of UK shows for Lauryn Hill, who personally tapped her as a support act.
• Her 2019 Swervvvvv.5 mixtape includes the infectious standout “Urban Jazz.” That same year, DDB appeared on Diplo’s internationally flavored Europa EP.
