About Hygiene

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was little, mom would always play that early New Wave on the radio while we got carted around for errands in our blue 1977 Chevrolet Impala station wagon... but it was watching bootlegged skate videos in the early 90's that got me into hiphop. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead Black Thought, Danger Mouse, Cheat Codes Phil Collins, Face Value (Remastered) Cheat Codes might be the pinnacle of boombap. Trail of Dead's debut album is raw, creative, uninhibited—things I strive for. Face Value is a masterclass in musical restraint, songwriting and lyricism. These records have shaped how I approach music. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Get Processed (feat. Cat Rap & Kitty Nap)” I poured my heart and soul into my first single—it took me a LOT of time and therapy just so I could release SOMETHING. It's not my best work technically, but it's the result of so many personal milestones that I worked toward over several years. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? There wasn't a lot of fanfare or anything, but when my first single was released across all the platforms, that was a huge milestone for me. I've been creating my whole life—art, poetry, music, bicycles—but I've always been too afraid to share it. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I really want to do a US tour, but it's something I need to build up to. I love road tripping!
