About Hashim

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first time I ever sang on a stage was at my school's award ceremony. I was 13. My mother and principal forced me into it. I was so terrified but when the music started and I started singing David Rudder's "High Mas", something just...clicked. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Burna Boy, Love, Damini HashimThaDream, Soca With a Twist Machel Montano, The Book of Angels I chose the albums of my two favorite artists and my own because many of my inspirations to form my unique sound came from studying the styles of these two dynamic acts. Seeing my first album ever form from those two influences is truly amazing. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Can You” This song came from a real place and was inspired by the true story of a fall out I had in a past relationship. I wanted to vent my feelings as well as give a voice to others who'd been in similar situations; for them to sing and vent along with me. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My most memorable moments are performing in the Semifinals of the International Soca Monarch in Trinidad. But my most memorable moment to date is seeing my dream come true with the release of my 1st album, "Soca With A Twist" and seeing it become #1. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My music bucket list is far from over. I dream to one day win the International Soca Monarch and Road March titles in Trinidad, to travel the world headlining my own tour and to win prestigious awards around the world for Soca Music.
