Regional Mexicano singer-songwriter Giovanny Ayala grew up loving the music of such fellow Sinaloa-bred artists as conjunto duo Miguel y Miguel and corrido star Chalino Sánchez. ∙ He wrote his first song at age 15 while riding public transportation to school. ∙ After he connected with regional Mexicano star Adriel Favela on social media, they recorded the 2018 duet “No Te Ilusiones Tanto” and performed together in Mexico. ∙ Ayala wrote 4 of the 11 tracks on Favela’s 2018 album, Señalado por Costumbre, including the hit “Cuando los Necesité.” ∙ His songs have been recorded by such popular artists as Roberto Tapia, Regulo Caro, and Luis Coronel. ∙ Ayala’s 2020 debut album, Altas y Bajas, is a collection of original corridos, including his popular duet with Jovanny Cadena, “Desde Las Calles.” ∙ His 2020 single “A Cuánto Me Quedé” was a huge regional Mexican radio hit, and its accompanying video garnered more than 40 million views.
