About George Perris

An accomplished Greek-French pop singer who went from regional stardom to international fame, George Perris spent his formative years in his native Greece, where he was discovered by celebrated composer Mimis Plessas. A tenor with great command and an ear for both pop and classical music, Perris released his debut album in 2006, but it was his 2008 collaboration with Greek classical crossover heavyweight Mario Frangoulis that helped to establish him, both at home and abroad. A successful 2010 tour with Lara Fabian resulted in the Belgian superstar making an appearance on his 2012 French-language album Un Souhait, and in 2014 he released his first album in English, Picture This, which he helped to promote via a live Jazz from Lincoln Center special on PBS. In 2016 Perris released an album of duets in Greek with Mario Frangoulis, and in 2017 he issued a pair of evocative singles written by film composer Evanthia Reboutsika. ~ James Christopher Monger
