Guatemalan Gaby Moreno is an award-winning singer and songwriter whose music encompasses a broad spectrum of genres, from blues and jazz to pop, R&B, soul, and Latin folk styles. She sings in both Spanish and English, and has called her sound "Spanglish folk soul." She issued her debut album, Still the Unknown, in 2008. Two years later Moreno released her sophomore album, Illustrated Songs, and also co-composed the instrumental theme song for the television series Parks and Recreation, winning an Emmy nomination. The Latin Grammy-winning Postales arrived in 2012, followed by the 2014 Christmas album Posada, and Ilusión in 2016. In 2019, she and pianist/arranger/composer Van Dyke Parks released the collaborative, iSpangled! In 2022, Moreno released the more guitar- driven, experimental, Alegoría featuring songs in Spanish and English. ~ Thom Jurek
