In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is listening to Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train in my brother's room in Troy, NY. Even though I was about 3 years old I still remember every detail of his room, Ozzy's raw emotion & Randy Rhoads' vibrant guitar playing What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Public Enemy, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back Queen, A Night at the Opera Deluxe Edition The Meters, Funkify Your Life: The Meters Anthology My mother (rest in peace) & I shared a love of Queen's 1975 masterpiece. Public Enemy's 2nd album showed me the power of using voices in music to convey powerful messages. Later on The Meters set the highest bar for funk played on real instruments. Tell us why you chose this song. “Sustain (Single)” Sustain celebrates & posthumously unites 2 amazing people who died since we'd sampled them previously: Michael Ruppert and bell hooks. The track honours their shared vision of shifting from a thing-oriented society to a person-oriented society. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When BBC 6 Music's Lauren Laverne planned a special broadcast on the eve of Record Store Day 2017 out of Huddersfield's iconic Vinyl Tap Records, we were chosen to perform live & represent the region. It was an absolutely nerve-racking honour! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We'd love to have one of our songs playlisted on BBC 6 Music.
