About Finding Butterflies

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As Finding Butterflies, we cherish the memory of the party where we celebrated the release of our 1st EP. Party goers included family, friends, & musicians we had collaborated with in the past. The day was truly authentic & such a gift. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Deep Purple, Machine Head Jethro Tull, Songs from the Wood 2003 Bonus Track Edition Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II Deluxe Edition The organic nature & use of flute/whistle make Songs from the Wood an obvious choice. The bass lines played by Jones & the guitar work by Blackmore & Page account for the other two. We also love the warmth of analog found in music from that time. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Naming Dead Cats” Beyond truly representing our sound, the song was written for my Mother and is an account of the time I spent with her in the hospital when she was very ill. The song recounts the fear, doubt, hope, courage, & faith all present in that experience. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Our music is not mainstream & we do everything ourselves, so every time we find acceptance & every time we reach a milestone, that moment becomes memorable. We've also had some terrific comments & met some brilliant people & musicians along the way.
