Fauna is an electronica duo from Argentina whose style of music has been described as cumbia digital or tropitronica. Founded in 2003 in Mendoza, Argentina, the duo's style of music is influenced by Latin urban styles such as cumbia villera, reggaetón, and baile funk; in essence, it mixes tropical styles such as cumbia and reggae with electronica styles such as drum'n'bass and breakbeat. Fauna made their full-length album debut in 2008 with La Manita de Fauna on ZZK Records (aka Zizek Records). Also in 2008, they were featured on the compilation ZZK Sound, Vol. 1: Cumbia Digital and also on the summer-long Zizek North American Tour. ~ Jason Birchmeier
