In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. A couple of us were barely old enough to remember seeing The Beatles on Ed Sullivan. That sure burned into a young musician's brain! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Keith Jarrett, The Köln Concert (Live) Montreux, Sign Language Steve Reich Ensemble, Reich: Music for 18 Musicians The Reich album is a great work from his "canon" period. Beautiful use of female voices, strings, woodwinds and mallet instruments. The Jarrett is the essence of improvisation. The Montreux recording was a big influence on what we did as a band. We love lyricism, but we also like to funk out and improvise.
