About Ethyl Meatplow

Though they were only in existence for a brief period of time, Ethyl Meatplow and their patented blend of Einsturzende Neubauten-inspired industrial mayhem and rigid, techno-derived rhythms, would influence countless late-‘90s acts. Their sole full-length LP, 1993’s HAPPY DAYS SWEETHEARTS, was produced by post-punk veteran Barry Adamson and featured a set of churning and abrasive--but occasionally catchy--re-imaginings of classic post-punk tropes set to danceable rhythms, including a tongue-in-cheek deconstruction of the Carpenters’ classic “Close To You.”
