About Erick the Architect

Known most for his multiple roles with Brooklynite hip-hop outliers Flatbush Zombies, rapper/producer Erick the Architect, aka Erick Arc Elliott, has a solo catalog of even wider scope that dates back as far as his group's debut. In addition to creative sample-based productions -- inspired by beatmakers such as J Dilla, Madlib, and Alchemist -- Erick is also a clever MC with a flair for switching from animated and whimsical to deeply contemplative. Erick's own output ranges from Almost Remembered (2011), his debut mixtape, to I've Never Been Here Before (2024), his first album. The latter veered away from Erick's foundation in classic boom bap and neo-soul to traverse other sounds such as dancehall and psychedelic pop.
