About EGON

Coming out of Texas in 1996, Egon started their career the same way they would maintain it, without a regular bassist. Known for their Spinal Tap-esque problems with keeping a regular bass player, the core of the group was still there in the form of guitarist Victor Talamantes. Disillusioned Leftist was their first self-released album, but the band's lineup was rather shaky at the time. Original drummer Joey Cazares was replaced by Ray Olivas in 2001, and the group adopted keyboardist Denise Garza also. Behind the Curtain was the first album with that lineup, and the band was happy with their new sound and direction. Phonetic Disasters followed a year later. ~ Bradley Torreano
