About Dusum Sangtong
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I have been composing music since I can remember. As a child, I had a small toy piano, and I would spend hours creating simple melodies. Music was already playing inside my head, long before I knew what composition was. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bang on a Can All-Stars, Brian Eno: Music for Airports (Live) KITARO, Dream Kitaro Dream by Kitaro, for its spacious and spiritual atmosphere. Chants – Sacred Tibetan Buddhist Chants by Lama Gyurme, for its devotional depth. Ambient 1: Music for Airports by Brian Eno, for its timeless sense of presence. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Dusum Sangye Guru Rinpoche” Dusum Sangye Guru Rinpoche was the first piece I released inspired by Tibetan Buddhism. It arose naturally from personal mantra practice and remains one of the most meaningful offerings of this project. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments was when I brought home my first synthesizer after years of saving. It felt like opening a new universe of sound. That moment deeply shaped my path as a composer and sound explorer. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? What I wish most is to continue sharing this music with people around the world, supporting meditation, contemplation, and inner peace. And to never stop creating and offering sound as a form of practice.
