Twin brothers Aku and Akwetey Orraca Tetteh started their journey in the Bronx, picked it up in Cleveland (where they were largely raised), and eventually found their way to the mid-2000s bohemia of Brooklyn, New York, where their classically trained take on psychedelia and avant-jazz caught the attention of scene kings TV On The Radio. Before long, the group’s indefinable swirl of outsider sounds--rooted in an affinity for straight-ahead classic rock--landed them a network of kindred spirits such as Yeasayer and Celebration as well as a deal with Gigantic Records, which released their debut LP, CORONATION THIEVES.
