About Donny Brewer

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first time I heard my song on the radio has to be one of my favorite memories. You'd think I would get used to that feeling, but it never gets old. As long as people keep listening, I'll keep making trop rock. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Marley & The Wailers, Exodus (2013 Remaster) Jimmy Buffett, Fruitcakes Zac Brown Band, The Foundation Before I heard these three albums, I didn't know I had permission to make music sound tropical and fun even though the lyrics weren't necessarily about beach or party subjects. My songs became so much better once I let them be what they wanted to be. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Keep the Party Going” When Jimmy Buffett passed, I knew a lot of songwriters would write slow sad songs, which is great. But I wanted to make a Caribbean and Gulf Coast influenced tribute using the advice he left us: "Have fun" and "Keep the party going!" What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Every time you get to sing a song you wrote in front of a large crowd singing those words back to you it's amazing, once in a life time experience. But so is an after party with 5 people around a campfire. I'm truly spoiled. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I've been on large and small stages, but sadly I never got to play with Jimmy Buffett. I've played with most of his Coral Reefers, but there's a few I have yet to share the stage with. Robert, Roger, Tina, and the great Mac McAnally are on that list.
