Rapper and singer Deemic signed to Cash Money Records in 2019 and made his commercial debut that year with the carefree single "Late Night." Deemic, born DeMichael Staes, sang in choirs as a youngster in his native New Orleans. Influenced by local stars such as Juvenile and Lil Wayne, as well as John Legend, he started writing and recording material and in his late teens -- while attending college -- gained notice with his SoundCloud page. After the track "Homicide" considerably expanded his audience through multiple channels, he landed a contract with Cash Money. The Sinista on da Traxxx-produced "Late Night," Deemic's first release for the label, was officially released in November 2019. ~ Andy Kellman
