Daniele Squeo

Daniele Squeo is known for conducting Italian opera, especially of the bel canto period. He has also been active as a symphonic conductor around Germany. Important prizes in Germany and Italy aided the growth of Squeo's career. He became first Kapellmeister at the Badisches Staatstheater for the 2016-2017 season and conducted numerous operas there. He continued to make guest appearances, including at a production of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake at the Musikkollegium in Winterthur, Switzerland, in 2019. Squeo became general music director at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern in Germany in 2020. He made his recording debut in 2023, leading Austria's Graz Philharmonic in a production of Nino Rota's opera Il Capello di Paglia di Firenze.
