About CUTS
Taking inspiration from influences as abstract as abandoned spaces and sleep paralysis, the mysterious multimedia project CUTS began making music and accompanying videos in 2012. Shunning any biographical information that might distract from the music, CUTS signed to Invada Records, the label owned by Portishead's Geoff Barrow. The ominous-sounding EP1, which featured vocalist Jo Spratley, was released as a limited-edition VHS cassette as well as on vinyl in 2014. The project returned in 2016 with EXIST, a 35-minute film described as "a journey into nowhere" that featured narration by graphic novelist Alan Moore. ~ Heather Phares
