In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My dad played banjo in a bluegrass band. Mom played guitar. I have memories of church & fireside singing. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Cougar Mellencamp, The Best of John Cougar Mellencamp (Remastered) [Live] Michael Bublé, The Michael Bublé Collection Steven Curtis Chapman, Steven Curtis Chapman: Greatest Hits (2008) I connect with artists who tell stories. Every story gives you a glimpse into their humanity, even if it's not their personal story. The choice to perform it bares a piece of their soul. I like to take their stories on a long drive with me. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? It's a Father's Day release for my first song, "Gonna Leave" written to tell my son's story. He was killed last fall. It's definitely the release. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? This is insane. I'd like to perform something with Steven Curtis Chapman, Eric Clapton, Daughtry--those guys have also experienced tremendous loss and I think performing with them, would be powerful and therapeutic.
