Congress of the Cow

San Diego native Stimy had a successful career as a singer with Atlantic Records artists Inch when they parted ways in the late 90's. Deciding that he needed to really think about the new direction he was going to go in, he decided to try and put a human face on the often cold and angular indie rock scene. Recruiting drummer Francis Winfield, bassist Ray Argyle, and guitarist Jon Cota, they called the group Congress of the Cow and began gigging around the area. After playing high profile shows with Frank Black and Imperial Teen, the band caught the eye of M-Theory Records. By the end of 2001, they had recorded their eponymous debut and were ready to hit the road to support it. ~ Bradley Torreano
