Based in Orlando, Florida, USA, the 90s rap duo Condition Red comprised Sir Tron and Gangster Red. They made their debut in 1994 for the local O-Town label with the disappointing Don’t Get Caught Slippin’. Tired, simplistic rhythm motifs drawn from the region’s ‘bass music’ tradition, did little to substantiate the group’s raps, in which safe sex was a recurrent theme (the album’s title also alluded to this idea). Critically dismissed, the record also sold poorly.
