About Clarelynn Rose

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember crying when I heard Puff the Magic Dragon as a five- or six-year-old. My mother tried to console me, saying it was just a song. I knew that, of course — but the music moved through me so powerfully there was simply no stopping the emotion. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alex D. Grassi, Turning: Turning Back Alex de Grassi, Slow Circle George Winston, December In university I’d turn off all the lights, turn up the volume, close my eyes, and drink these in — again and again. Bliss. I was already composing for guitar and piano, and these albums became dear companions, sources of inspiration and aspiration. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Meadow Run” Even now, it evokes the sense of wild elk running through a California forest as I drove to a forestry job. I was sure one would ram my truck — but he didn’t. I watched, enthralled, as the entire herd thundered across the meadow before me. Wondrous. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing on the Isle of Gigha for a boisterous crowd, I was unsure how my music would land. But a deep stillness descended— the whole room grew quiet. A beautiful, unexpected moment. Later, my sound engineer said, amazed, “You got the silence going!” Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes — to keep growing spiritually. That growth naturally weaves into my music, like when a devotional based on a Hindu chant unexpectedly emerged a few months ago. I suspect there will be more musical reflections of the spiritual journey ahead.
