Against Me!, Transgender Dysphoria Blues Lavender Country, Lavender Country Pat The Bunny, The Volatile Utopian Real Estate Market Transgender Dysphoria Blues is the first time I got to sing angry trans music. Discovering Lavender Country directly lead to finding queer music community in the bay. The 2nd half of The Volatile Utopian Real Estate showed me a path to songwriting. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Closet” This song is special to me because it is a push to come out of the trans closet that is nuanced and doesn't gloss over the very real dangers. I am also proud that the lyrics present a very succinct, but complete, view of my feelings on the subject. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The summer I released my first song, I lived part-time at Sunflower House, the coop where I'd lived early in my transition. My last day in town, I got to perform with my housemate for his burlesque troupe's local music showcase. It was perfect. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to print vinyl for my record "Home". I want to go on tour.
